Maybe you should buy a Sunday New York Times this weekend. You can buy it other weekends of course, but perhaps you really should buy it this weekend. It’s a very big paper, yes, but you could just read one section… or, you know, whatever.

I bought this at the most recent Bookslut reading because I’d heard good things about it. Plus her reading was really fucking funny.

This essay on book touring by A.L. Kennedy is the funniest fucking thing I have read in a long time. And it’s funny BECAUSE IT’S TRUE.

I spotted the author at BEA last year giving away signed copies and I picked one up. I started reading it late one night months ago, and in my insomniac haze I had the idea that this was a collection of short stories.

But I live stupidly close to Sulzer Library, so I’ll walk by there anyway, just to relieve my guilt. If you don’t read this in time and show up anyway we can browse the paperbacks together and do catalog searches for titles with dirty words. It’ll rock!
